Research Support Specialist/ Lab Manager
Michael received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Stony Brook University in 2020 and his master’s degree in Chemistry at Stony Brook University in 2021. His master’s thesis focused on identifying the functional significance of carotenoid production in thraustochytrids by utilizing biochemical assays to determine cellular parameters such as antioxidative capacity and reactive oxygen species abundance related to oxidative stress. Michael joined the Shroyer laboratory in November of 2021 to aid in identifying the prognostic relationship between K17, A2ML1, and survival in urothelial carcinoma.
