Shayan is a doctoral candidate affiliated to the Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program at Stony Brook University. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., he received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Life Sciences from Presidency University (erstwhile College) Kolkata, followed by a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Molecular Biology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. Presently, he aims at demystifying the mechanism by which Keratin-17 drives biological aggression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. He is also involved in the formulation of an image analysis pipeline for the objective understanding of whole slide images. Besides science, Shayan also has a predilection for traveling and likes to express his culinary interests.
